Factum Radioscape a leader in DAB radio technologies, is proud to announce its support for the FáilteDAB trial in Ireland by providing three OBSERVA Field Monitors for DAB signal decoding and analysis. The compact RF measuring devices will be used by the shareholders to assess and validate the coverage of their services using inbuilt GPS functionality to provide mobile drive surveys across the transmission area..
The FáilteDAB trial, set to commence broadcasting imminently, is
licensed by COMREG to the engineering company Foothold Communications. The trial
aims to deliver a diverse range of content to listeners beyond that already provided
by FM broadcasting, with potential expansion beyond the Leinster area during the
license period.
Stephen Foley, Managing Director of Foothold Communications,
described the announcement as a major milestone in Irish broadcasting :
Bauer Media Audio Ireland, the country's largest radio group, and Wireless Ireland, a prominent broadcaster, have both confirmed their participation in the FáilteDAB trial. Factum Radioscape's OBSERVA Field Monitor kits will provide comprehensive and accurate analysis of DAB+ signal coverage and quality of the transmissions. Bauer Media Audio Ireland and Onic (formerly Wireless Ireland) will gain valuable insights into the performance of their digital broadcasts, with the ability to record ETI files for deep analysis of the audio, radio text and slides.
