Factum Radioscape’s ENMUXA DAB system brings DAB+ Radio to the city of Mandurah, the second largest city in Western Australia. Mandurah becomes the ninth city in Australia to join the digital radio roll out, with services launching in time for Christmas.

West Coast Radio content director John De Bellis said: “We’re excited to officially launch DAB+ with our popular FM stations 97.3 Coast FM and 91.7 The Wave both broadcasting in digital from December 23. Listeners can look forward to new stations rolling out in the coming months, offering more exciting choices of music and entertainment.”

The DAB+ service will improve local radio with enhanced sound quality and greater station choice. Mandurah follows launches in Canberra, Darwin, and Hobart earlier in 2019. Factum Radioscape’s DAB+ system has been used in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney since 2009, offering listeners new stations and richer radio experience through slideshow images and text displayed on receivers.

The software solution consists of an encoding and multiplexing system from Factum Radioscape, installed by Australian partner RAEAIR. Factum Radioscape’s Sales Manager James Waterson says, “It is wonderful to see new entrants to the DAB platform in Australia. DAB multiplex operators find ENMUXA affordable and easy to operate. Together with RAEAIR, we’ll ensure the customer receives full technical support from installation through to the day-to-day running of the multiplex.”
